I use the nylon head on this hammer to work harden wire without changing it's form. The metal side of the mallet is flat so it leaves marks in large areas but works well when I need to make small sprails flat and I have to work close to my finished product. It is very slightly domed. The nylon head is removeable . I am looking for additional heads to add to this product line.
Under the nylon head is a spiral like etching that I have used on metal though I am sure that is not it's intended use.
