Carefully selected gemstones help you create outstanding necklaces, bracelets and earrings. This stone is naturally rough and has many holes and bubbles causing it to be lightweight. It may appear in black or a reddish brown. It provides a nice organic look when used in jewelry making. Lava Stone beads are made from basalt, a common volcanic rock. Much of the Lava Stone beads have been treated with paraffin to keep them from being so abrasive.
