Premium quality wholesale Malachite gemstone beads, pendants and cabochons for jewelry making and designing. Carefully selected gemstones help you create outstanding necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Malachite is light to dark green and banded with green tones. It is copper carbonate and contains an altered form of copper which creates the green color. The amount of water in the copper affects whether or not Malachite will be dark or light with more water making it a lighter green. Some jewelry designers enjoy pairing Malachite with Lapis Lazuli. Protect Malachite from scratches and temperature changes and keep it away from water which removes it polish. Keep acid away from Malachite and do not clean it with anything containing ammonia. A major source for Malachite is Zaire, in the Congo, but it is also found in Australia, Chili, Mexico, Nambia, Zimbabwe, and the U.S.A. Some say that Malachite can be used as a talisman for children to protect them from danger and ward off illness. The regeneration of body cells is said to be aided by Malachite which might also provide extra energy. It is purported to give knowledge and patience while bringing harmony. Some gaze at or hold Malachite, believing it helps calm emotions and relax the nervous system.
