We are not the run of the mill bead business. We are a select and limited quantity high-quality gemstone bead company. We are constantly adding more listings. We also sell out of 5 to 20 items a day.
Turquoise Magpie Gemstones provides high-quality beads at an exceptional price, with honesty, respect, and integrity. We offer our expertise, from years of selling jewelry and beads, to provide exceptional quality products that will increase the likelihood of everyone's success. We also make decisions that are in the best interest of suppliers, buyers, local economy, the environment, the international bead, and jewelry community. Below is an explanation of how we will fulfill this promise:
Product Sourcing and Pricing
We have years of experience in the trade, having successfully sold jewelry in every venue imaginable. We have developed many knowledgeable and trustworthy connections. We have an eye for design, market trends and knowledge of products that will sell, and we have the resources and connections to procure those products. This is the entire package you receive when you buy from TMG.
We pledge to seek out the finest product at the best price to ensure the success of our clients. When we have the choice and the knowledge, we choose products and services that have been produced under a truly fair trade model, from artists and small family owned and run operations. We attempt to support the craft people who make our product whenever possible and to the best of our ability.
We take very seriously our responsibility to our clients to keep prices down. We accomplish this goal by keeping our overhead low: we work out of a small warehouse, use vehicles that get good gas mileage, build our own websites, limit travel, turn off lights and computers when not in use, etc. For example, leaving computers on all night is a business cost and must be added to the cost of doing business and eventually must be added to the cost of beads.
We do several little things that add up synergistically to take care of clients' wallets as well as our environment. In that vein, we do not spend your money extravagantly on advertising, catalogs, or unnecessary travel. For advertising, we rely mostly on word of mouth, and that has been working very well.
We have a responsibility to the people who rely on our products and services for their supplies and we take that responsibility seriously.
We make decisions that will keep us in business for the long term. You can count on us that if you become dependent on us as a supplier we will be here. We are weathering this financial storm with our business practice.
Sharing of Information
We build up our community through sharing. This includes sharing of design ideas, business concepts, knowledge, and experience acquired over two decades. We share this information freely with the community because this is a passion, not just a business. We can all be a small part of making this world a better place to live by doing what we are passionate about and our goal is to support you in doing so.
We believe small sustainable businesses are what makes the local community strong; not only through an increase in self-made income, but people who work for themselves are consequently also available socially for their community and families. They impact the environment in a small way as opposed to large industrial or factory models. They strengthen social bonds and just make our communities, well, communities again.
Supporting Local Business and Environmental Impact
We support and nurture small business by monetary patronage and offering ideas, help, and inspiration. The more small businesses that succeed, the less drain there is on the environment, the more personal power people experience and society are impacted socially and structurally in a positive way. If the local community is resilient, strong, and successful, then we all are.
We find the exceptional and often there is a limited quantity when we only choose the best. This way our clients can afford to buy up all the product on one item and then they will have the exclusive. Jewelry designers will have unique and exceptional product and be assured that others will not be able to readily reproduce their work, or if they do it will cost them much more.
We strongly feel that relationship, honesty, and integrity are always, and will always be the priority. Ethics is just a fancy way of saying "be nice."
We will not sell at a venue in which a client is selling. Clients are not just people who buy beads, they are also sellers, advertisers, and ambassadors. Our clients' success is our primary goal since ultimately they sell our product.
With this responsibility comes transparency. We sell at the lowest price possible while still staying in business to serve you years from now. In that vein we will not surprise you with a 70% off sale because we can't, our prices are too low. When we do discount beads we tell you why and offer it to our repeat customers first. You can be assured you are always getting a fair deal.
We disclose all stone treatments when we are aware of them and to the best of our ability. If we make a mistake we will tell you. We actively search and stay abreast of industry practices and we are always learning more about gemstones. We openly share all we know and appreciate when a client teaches us things that we don't.
If you overpay and we catch it, we will issue you a refund. If we make a mistake, we will immediately acknowledge it and correct it. We encourage honesty and expression of experiences as well. If you are not happy, we want to hear it. We will look at the concern and do whatever we can to improve.
