About Szarka

Szarka began selling jewelry professionally in 1990. She sold in galleries and at art shows part time while working as a family therapist. She then traveled for seven years, selling  jewelry, beads, hand made clothing, and stones at festivals and fairs depending on the show.

When she quit traveling, she couldn't stop buying turquoise and gemstones from the excellent suppliers she had met and formed relationships with over the years, so she sold some on eBay, and www.turquoisemagpie.com was born. Now with suppliers that have factories in India and Hong Kong she started offering her gems and beads wholesale to the trade on this website.

She also supports and sells designer beads from artists who create unique and exceptional works. When available you will find high fired porcelain focal beads and buttons from Clay Jeani and American turquoise cabochons by lapidary artist Mr.Bill the cab man. Also hand made Boro glass Goddesses and beads from Kat in Spokane Washington, and wire wrap tutorials from Sherry "Dancing Feather". The list goes on and she is always open to supporting artists and creating a partnership to show case their work.
