Carefully selected gemstones help you create outstanding necklaces, bracelets and earrings. The rich color of Tanzanite runs from ultramarine blue to light violet-blue with blue surrounded by a hint of purple being the most valued. Tanzanite is typically polychromatic and the visible colors depend on the angle from which it is viewed. This stone is the blue variety of Zoisite, but was renamed by the Tiffany & Company of New York, based on the fact that it is mined in Tanzania. Some maintain that Tanzanite helps the wearer slow down and take it easy; therefore, it may be called "the workaholic"s stone". It makes sense that it is purported to help with stress-related illness such as high blood pressure. It is also said to put the mind under command of the heart. Tanzanite is often heat treated to improve the color.
